Processing of reclaimed asphalt (RAP) is an economic imperative for saving natural ressources. It is equally important to obtain good prices for the mixed goods by using recycled material.

The Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act and common sense force us to recycle the valuable raw material "asphalt" to the highest possible amount.The highest possible addition of RAP depends mainly on its grading curve. It is therefore important that the grading curve of the RAP is as far as possible approximated to the desired grading curve of the finished product. This result cannot be achieved with normal crushing plants, since this technology produces too many fines and sand to achieve the proper granulation.

Cold Recycling into the mixer

From the RAP feed hopper the material is delivered to the mixing tower by either an inclined conveyor belt or bucket elevator. a speed controlled belt feeder mounted on load cells regulates the feed rate. The RAP is then fed into the mixer via an inclined chute. The steam given off as the rap is heated is extracted by generously sized insulated pipework. Depending on quality, consistency and moisture content high levels of rap material can be added into the mixer.

Multivariable Dosing System

The excellent performance of the cold-dosing-process into the mixer is achieved by the multivariable dosing system. This specialised system allows for the addition of 40 % of rap-material at 3 % humidity into the mixer whilst still ensuring high quality asphalt is produced. Another feature is that this system allows any kind of cold or warm mixes to be achieved.

  • Chute with creusabro liners into the mixer
  • Steam Expansion ducting insulated
