The Benninghoven asphalt mixing plant Concept, type “TBA 240 U”, was erected new for Roadstone Provinces Ltd. at their coastal quarry in Arklow, Ireland, in March 2006. The plant was used to supply bituminous material to the N11 Arklow – Gorey bypass. The project comprised the constructing dual carriageway to replace the existing N11 between Clogh and the Arklow bypass and includes the bypass of Gorey town. The asphalt mixing plant produced 308,000 t of blacktop for the project during its 14 months stay at Arklow. It is now being dismantled for its relocation to Glenstone’s Quarry at Killlough Co. Tipperary, part of the CRH group. Already at Killough is installed, since the end of 2006, another Benninghoven asphalt mixing plant Concept, type “TBA 240 U”. To date, this plant has produced in excess of 200,000 t of blacktop for the M8 Cullahill-Cashel and the N8 Cashel-Mitchelstown; both projects due for completion before the end of 2009. We would like to thank our customers Roadstone Provinces Ltd. and Glenstone’s Quarry for their confidence and their excellent co-operation.
